The vice mayor said that the exhibition “Reconquest: 1809 – 2009” will gather more than 200 pieces of art.

The Vice Mayor, Santiago Domínguez, confirmed that nowadays the exhibition “Reconquest: 1809 – 2009” that will be inaugurated the next 6th of March, will be the biggest one of exhibitions that were organised in the Castrelos Museum in its life. The Old Quarters commemorate the surrender of Vigo to Napoleon’s troops

The Bicentenary Reconquest celebration activities will begin on Saturday the 31st with a representation of the siege of Vigo by French troops, as announced by the Deputy Mayor of Vigo, Mr. Santiago Domínguez, and the President of the Residents Association of the Old Quarters of Vigo, Mr. Henrique Macías. The books of the deceased narrate the drama of the Reconquest

The Diocese will be ceding historic books of the deceased from the parish of Lavadores and from that of the collegiate church on the occasion of the Bicentenary exhibition.
The Diocese of Tui-Vigo will be lending these historical books of the deceased for the exhibition "Reconquest of Vigo: 1809-2009", to be held in the Castrelos Museum from the 6th to the 31st of March, 2009.
