A descendant of Napoleon to visit Vigo

Charles Bonaparte is the president of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities.

Prince Charles Napoleon Bonaparte, a descendant of the French emperor, will be participating in Vigo at the Reconquest Congress that will take place on the 12th and 13th of March, 2009, in the Caixanova Social Centre, within the program organised by the Deputy Mayor’s Office of Vigo.

He was born in Paris in 1950, has a Ph.D. in economic sciences from the University of Sorbonne, and is considered to be the most direct heir to the Bonaparte dynasty. This "great-great-grandnephew" of the Corsican also embarked on a political career but less ambitious than his predecessor. He was counsellor at the municipality of Ajaccio, in Corsica, and participated in the latest legislative elections in France.
Charles Napoleon currently presides the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities, which is a network of many cities that had past links to the figure of the French Emperor.
