The Lieutenant Coronel of the Infantry Nuno Correia Barrento de Lemos Pires was born on 3rd March, 1965. He joined the military academy in 1983 and graduated in Military Sciences in 1988.

He has published many works and collaborated in several books and projects in Portugal and Spain, especially within the scope of military history, in which he has published many articles in diverse magazines and newspapers in Portugal, Spain and Germany.
Nuno is the secretary of the “Consejo Fiscal de la Liga de los Amigos del Museo Militar de Lisboa”, an effective member of the Military Journal, a collaborator and referee for military affairs of the Readers Society, consultant for the research project “Sala de Batallas del Palacio Fronteira”, board member of the Portuguese Scientific Commission for Military History and a member of the Forum for studying Spanish Military History.
