Michael Rapport

Lecturer at the Department of History at the University of Stirling
He was born in New York and graduated from the Universities of Bristol and Edinburgh. In September 1995, he began working at the Department of History, University of Stirling, after having worked at the University of Sunderland. From 2000 to 2005 he was secretary of the French Studies Society and is the editor of the newspaper "French History".

Mr. Rapport has published books on various aspects of the French Revolution, such as "Nationality and Citizenship in Revolutionary France: The Treatment of Foreigners 1789-1799" (2000) as well as on European history, such as "Nineteenth-Century Europe" (2005). He is now working on books about the 1848 revolutions and the Napoleonic wars.
