Jean-René Aymes is Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris III, New Sorbonne, and has dedicated his time to studying Spanish-French relations from several aspects (conflicts, reciprocal influences, travel stories, image of another...) and covering the period of the 18th and 19th centuries. His special publications are: “The Spanish in France, 1808-1814”, “Deportation under the first Empire” (Siglo XXI, Madrid, 1987)”, “France in Spain, Spain in France: the history of Spanish-French cultural relations (19th and 20th centuries)” (Published by the University of Salamanca, 2003) and “The Crisis of l’Ancien Régime et l’avénement du libéralisme en Espagne (1808-1833)”, (Published by Ellipses, Paris, 2005).
